March At-A-Glance

Upcoming - For Girls, Troops, and Families

Camp is Hiring!

Do you know anyone you would think would make a great camp counselor? We're looking for unit leaders, counselors, lifeguards, ropes course staff, and health center staff to help make this summer an amazing one!  Applicants must be at least 18 by June 1, unless they have completed the CIT program at camp. Head over to girlscoutsiowa.org/camp-employment for more information and to apply!

Gear Up for Spring with a Camp Rental

Camp isn't just for summer! Facility rental is available nearly year-round (except when Summer Camp is in session) for our four camp properties, and offers a great opportunity for your troop, group, or family to get together and enjoy the outdoors! Spots are filling up fast for spring – reserve a spot for your troop to enjoy the beauty of camp by visiting our Camp Rentals page.

Bridging Ceremonies are Fast Approaching!

It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is only a few months away – and that means it’s time to think about Bridging! Is it time for your troop to change grade levels? Be sure to check out the Volunteer Toolkit or your Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting for information on how to complete the two steps required to Bridge to the next level.  Psst…Looking for a bridge to check out for your Bridging Ceremony? Graduation Cord Information Coming Soon

A few years ago, we started the tradition of giving graduating Girl Scouts a green cord to wear – with their school’s permission – to their graduation ceremony. We’ll be sending information to families in the next few weeks with directions on how they can receive their cords!

Building Girl Scouts

winter membership campaign update

Troops that opted in to our Winter Membership Campaign and qualified by adding two new girls to their troop between November 1 and January 31 have earned up to two Girl Scout-branded sweatshirts for troop leaders! Sweatshirts should arrive no later than mid-March (in sizes requested when the troop opted in). Your local Recruitment Manager will be in touch!

Is Your School Hosting a Kindergarten Round-Up?

We’d love to be there! Contact your local Recruitment Manager at info@gsiowa.org, and we’ll look into attending to talk to incoming girls about Girl Scouts.
