Early Bird Renewal: April 1 - May 31

It’s almost Early Bird time! From an exclusive (and adorable) free Early Bird patch, to free Ninja GIRL events across the council, to $5 reimbursement for up to 5 adult renewals, there are tons of reasons to take advantage of this year's awesome Early Bird renewal - from April 1 to May 31! Be sure to check out The Early Bird page on the Bridge for more info on how you can renew girls (with permission) using Cookie Dough, and get a sneak peek of the Ninja GIRL event dates/locations!

Spring Troop Leader Academy - Foundations Trainings Scheduled!

What’s Troop Leader Academy – Foundations? It’s an interactive training session all about running a Girl Scout troop. We’ll cover everything, from the Girl Scout Promise and Law and planning badge activities, to funding your troop, communicating with girls and parents, and more! Encourage new leaders to check out our sessions on the Event List this spring, and keep an eye out soon for the announcement of our fall training dates! Have a group of new volunteers interested in having a training in your town? Email us at info@gsiowa.org and we’ll see what we can do!

Troop Finance Reports Due June 30

Be sure to start gathering your troop’s financial info for the membership year so far! The simplified Troop Finance Report (required by the IRS) is available on our website under “Forms,” and will ask for your current bank statement and some general details on your finances this year.

Planning Events, Service Projects, or Trips This Summer?

The weather is getting warmer, and it’s time to start planning any projects your troop may choose to do over the summer! Be sure to check out the Troop and Service Unit Activities page on The Bridge if you need help, and tell us what you’re up to at girlscoutsiowa.org/yourstory

Bridging Ceremonies are Fast Approaching!

It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is only a few months away – and that means it’s time to think about Bridging! Is it time for your troop to change grade levels? Be sure to check out the Volunteer Toolkit or your Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting for information on how to complete the two steps required to Bridge to the next level.  Psst…Looking for a bridge to check out for your Bridging Ceremony? Head to girlscoutsiowa.org/equipment to see the items available in your area.

Is Your School Hosting a Kindergarten Round-Up?

We’d love to be there! Contact your local Recruitment Manager at info@gsiowa.org, and we’ll look into attending to talk to incoming girls about Girl Scouts.
