  • Mom & Me Winter Fun – (Grades K-5: January 26; Camp Sacajawea) Moms and Girl Scouts: head to Camp Sacajawea for a day of crafts, s’mores, and outdoor winter fun.

  • Ski Trip to Mt. Kato – (Grades 6-12: February 1-3; Camp Tanglefoot) Get fired up for a downhill ski trip to Mt. Kato in Mankato, Minnesota!  

  • Planning ahead for spring break? Check out Spring Break Camp at Camp Sacajawea! Overnight from March 17-20. We'll try out making campfires, playing GaGa ball, and going on outdoor adventures! Register by March 6, 2019.

Volunteer Award Nominations Open Until February 1!

Check out our website at girlscoutsiowa.org/volunteer-awards for descriptions of all the awards our volunteers can receive, and start your nomination letters today! Nominations are due February 1, 2019. We'll honor the award winners at Circle of Excellence in the spring. 

Initial Orders Due for the Cookie Program on January 15

Remember, Initial Orders for cookies to start your troop’s program are due in Smart Cookies at 11:59p.m. on Tuesday, January 15! Your Initial Order will set your girls up for success, ensuring they can kick off their Cookie Program with enough inventory to satisfy customers who have been anxiously waiting for cookie season! Need help placing your Initial Order? Check out some great resources in the December 13 Shout Out.

Camp isn't just for summer! Facility rental is available nearly year-round (except when Summer Camp is in session) for our four camp properties, and offers a great opportunity for your troop, group, or family to get together and enjoy the outdoors! Planning for World Thinking Day

Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day - February 22 - is a day of international friendship and speaking out on issues that affect girls and young women. Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in 146 different countries make a global impact and think about their fellow Scouts on this special day. Cookie Program Booth Sales

You can set up troop-secured booth sale locations on January 1 in Smart Cookies, or sign up for the council-secured booth lottery by January 11! Check out the Booth Sales section (pages 10-12) of the 2019 Cookie Program Kit on the Bridge (gsgibridge.com/cookieprogram) for more info.

Opt-In to Our Winter Membership Campaign = Earn a Super-Cool Sweatshirt!

We wanted to offer you a chance to spread the adventure and learning of Girl Scouts, while also earning yourself (and another leader) a super-cool sweatshirt! Simply opt-in using the Winter Membership Campaign Opt-In Form (under Forms on our website) and add at least two new girls to your troop between November 1 and January 31 to earn a sweatshirt for you and a co-leader!
