Upcoming Programs

Be sure to check out the events calendar for even more programs – tons of new ones are being added for this fall!

Outdoor Programs

Summer camp may be over, but there are still plenty of great opportunities to explore the outdoors and check out our camp properties over the fall and winter months! Be sure to check out the events calendar as they’re added in the coming months.

Travel with GSGI 101 Webinars

On December 4, and January 29, we’re offering webinars to help Girl Scouts learn about the travel opportunities GSGI has to offer! We’ll also go over the sign-up process, fundraising, who can attend, paperwork, and any questions you might have. Register for one of the webinars in our Event List!

Program Event Registration Updates - New Login Will Make Saving Your Info Even Easier!

Starting this fall, when members register for a Girl Scout event from our event list/calendar, you'll be asked to login as part of completing your registration. This will save your data, streamline the registration process, and make submitting camp payments much easier! If you've registered from programs before, simply use your email address, and use the "forgot password" option. You can also create a new account, and your registration history will be saved! Note this is a different system from the MyGS account you use to manage your annual Girl Scout memberships.

Volunteer Resources

Year of Service Patch Program is Here!

With our new Year of Service program, you can submit your service hours during two windows each year (October - March and April - September). If you submit at least one unique service project during the timeframe, your troop will earn a special Year of Service patch! There will be two unique patches per year (submit a project during each window and you'll earn both). Head to girlscoutsiowa.org/yearofservice to submit your projects.

Badge Essentials Sheets for Every Grade Level

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to plan your Girl Scout year! We’ve put together Badge Essentials guides for each grade level, to help you see a full list of badges and Journeys and where you can find their requirements. See our Badge Essentials Bridge page to download the sheet for your grade level.

Volunteer Award Nominations are Now Open!

Check out our website at girlscoutsiowa.org/volunteer-awards for descriptions of all the awards our volunteers can receive, and start your nomination letters today! Nominations are due February 1, 2019. We'll honor the award winners at Circle of Excellence in the spring.

Updates to Silver and Gold Award Requirements

Girl Scouts of the USA has announced that starting this year, Girl Scout Silver & Girl Scout Gold Award projects may now benefit the Girl Scout community. In order to make sure that this doesn't dilute the prestige, leadership efforts, or impact of each girl's project, Silver & Gold Awards must still meet the requirements that are key to taking sustainable action (found on our highest awards Bridge page). This change does not impact girls who have already begun or submitted a project plan.

Service Unit Events - We Can Help!

Want to hold an event for Girl Scouts in your service unit area? We can help you gather registration info by listing it on our website – which also allows girls to use Cookie Dough, Juliette Program Credits, or Munch Money to sign up! Check out our Service Unit/Troop Events page on the website for more information on the requirements, and a link to the Event Listing Request Form.

Official Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Leaders Group on Facebook

We hope you’ll join us in this Facebook community just for volunteers, which is another tool for you to connect with other leaders, share ideas, and even ask questions of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa staff. Head over to the Official Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Leaders Group for more!
