Get Ready, Get Set, Get Trained!
We’re committed to giving you the tools you need to succeed in your volunteer position! Check out these available training sessions.
- NEW: Troop Leader Academy - Foundations - Whether you’re just getting started as Troop Leader, or you’re a seasoned expert, join us for Troop Leader Academy – Foundations, an interactive training session all about running a Girl Scout troop. We’ll cover everything, from the Girl Scout Promise and Law, to planning badge activities, funding your troop, communicating with girls and parents, and more! By the end of the session, you’ll know the basics every troop leader should know, plus you’ll have a binder full of resources to help you run your troop. These in-person training sessions are scheduled across the council. (If the in-person sessions do not work for your schedule, keep an eye out for our online version coming soon!)
- First Aid/CPR Training - GSGI recommends each troop secure a Troop First Aider, a registered adult volunteer trained in First Aid and CPR. In partnership with the American Red Cross, we offer a blended learning training option for volunteers, which can also be found on our event list. Once you register for a session, you’ll receive a link to complete your at-home portion (on a PC or tablet), which must be completed prior to attending the in-person skills test. Allow approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion.
- Cookie and Fall Product Program Training - Be sure to check out The Bridge pages for Fall Product and the Cookie Program for links to training webinars each year, as well as training recordings if you miss the webinar! These trainings ensure you're prepped and ready to go when the programs start each fall and winter.
